Excellent humus of all types, with falafel and other salads. Quick service, very authentic atmosphere, seating in a passage of the main street, so doesn't feel too crowded. Definitely a place to get back to!

As a regular customer to one of the staple restaurants in East Jerusalem, I can say that Askadinya has transformed into a space of comfort, from the food to the environment. The staff is incredible and the creativity in their dishes makes for an amazing experience overall. I would highly recommend Askadinya for any occasion, or simply for a quick meal as you go about your daily life.

The food was good and the staff were friendly and smiling, but overall the experience didn’t meet expectations—especially considering the prices. I was served the wrong dish, and while I told them it was okay and I’d have it anyway, there was no apology or explanation, which felt a bit dismissive. I also had to leave my food to remind them about my drink. The atmosphere was nice, but hygiene could definitely be improved. While I usually like cats, there was one sitting right on the cutlery, which isn’t acceptable in a restaurant. My friend also mentioned the bathroom was very dirty. With the high prices, I expected a much better level of service and cleanliness.

I ordered the chicken Tagine, but it was overwhelmed with an overpowering amount of citric acid, making it taste horrible. When I mentioned it to the waiter, he insisted that’s how it’s supposed to be but offered to "fix" it. Unfortunately, the "fix" was simply adding water, which made it even worse. It cost 72 ILS, which was far too much for such a disappointing dish. We also ordered a lava cake, but it was served cold. On the bright side, the halloumi salad was decent. However, the overall experience was bad, and the meal was extremely overpriced.

Prateek Chaba★★★★★

Amazing Sheikh Jarrah restaurant with great food, beautiful atmosphere and the best most courteous service. Signage is very clear on the main street in English and Arabic so super easy to find in the middle of other restaurants. 100% would recommend to anyone visiting Jerusalem as they have an amazing menu of local Palestinian food and great international dishes also like burgers, pizza, Italian dishes.
