I've been here since 2006 but this is officially the 1st time I'm reviewing this restaurant. As far as I can remember, this place serves one of the best Japanese food you can find in Johor Bahru. A warm, lovely place that's very close to my heart. I've brought my family here, loved ones here, close family friends here and even acquaintances here and none had bad things to say about this restaurant. Usually I like to order the chirashizushi (large bowl of sushi rice topped with numerous sashimi slices). Another of my favourite is the buta kakuni whereas my sisters usually like to order the soup with tofu & beef slices. To be honest, we wolved down most of the dishes before remembering to take photos. Their buttered Codfish set is also excellent and I really enjoy their tenzaru soba on a hot day. Don't sell yourself short and come back to try whatever dishes that tickle your fancy because the food is very, very good. If you check the photos section nearer to the counter, you can sp

We visited on a wed 1pm for lunch(reserved via fb for fear no seatings). Thankfully perhaps its weekday there were only 2 other tables so the Jap eatery even offered a secluded private sector where we dined in pleasure. Food items ordered: Saba fish set served w rice, salad, chawanmushi(not bad RM28), pork tonkatsu curry rice(well fried tender inside & super huge portion! RM35), salmon sashimi(fresh & 6 pcs thick cut RM58), beef sukiyaki set w rice(RM44 broth taste was gd but mostly veg, only 3 pcs beef inside), grilled jap chix meatballs(flavourful gd). Hot or cold tea was served on the house and hot hand towels provided before start of the meal. Overall decent Jap food and reasonable price with good yakitori grilled sticks. Will recommend if in the area and crave for Jap food. Our total spendings was RM220 for all the food items enough to feed 3pax.

Tucked away like a hidden gem, the Japanese restaurant offers an unforgettable dining experience where every detail feels thoughtfully crafted. The food is exquisiteβ€”delicately prepared sashimi, deeply flavorful ramen, and perfectly balanced dishes that showcase the purity and elegance of authentic Japanese cuisine. The ambience is warm and inviting, with natural wood accents, soft lighting, and subtle traditional dΓ©cor that transports you straight to Japan. Completing the experience is the wonderfully attentive staff, whose genuine warmth and gracious hospitality make every guest feel welcomed, relaxed, and eager to return.

It’s a popular spot that fills up right after opening, so it’s best to make a reservation. The sashimi and sushi are fresh and well prepared. Service is attentive and friendly, which makes the experience pleasant. However, the tempura is disappointing. The batter is thick and heavy rather than light and crisp. Overall, a great place for sushi and sashimi lovers, but I’d skip the tempura.

Reading at previous reviews, this restaurant is highly rated. Maybe we came on a disastrous day for the place. My first impression is that although there were a lot of staff around, they were all running around like chokes with the heads cut off. We were led to a table that was not properly set up. The staff, and a supervisor did not even acknowledge our present, despite we were only three feet away from her. The waitress forgot about taking our order until after they served the later tables. Then another waitress sent the wrong dish to our table! We had to asked for the wine list, but then it was promptly taken away without asking us for a wine order! Worst experience of the night was we were sat beside a group of very rude, arrogant, and very loud Singaporean dinner. Maybe it is not the restaurant's fault, but surely, they can ask them to lower their voices or sat them at an unobtrusive table. We lost all our appetite because of them. What save the night was the foods. The r

Surprising a lot people on weekdays as it located at the second floor of the shop lot. So we sat at the counter bar. The environment is same like Japanese shop. Very Japan feel. The staff is friendly. The food is nice and tasty but I think the food can improve a bit more. The price also quite reasonable. A lot of Japanese customers go there chill out after busy work day.
