I recently started learning bartending, so when I heard this bar is one of Asia’s 50 Best, I had to visit. I ordered a tasting flight featuring five mini cocktails, plus an Aviation. I highly recommend the tasting flight for first-time visitors, as it lets you try five of the bar’s most popular creations in one order. Bloody Napoleon felt like a Nepali take on a Bloody Mary and was probably the most memorable one for me. The other cocktails leaned more toward sour-sweet flavors, and one even reminded me of the dried plum snacks I used to eat as a child. The final cocktail was a refreshing yogurt-based drink. The staff also provided complimentary snacks to pair with the drinks, which was a lovely touch. The Aviation was excellent as well — the balance between sweetness and acidity was very well executed, and the base spirit still came through nicely without being overpowering. The place is an absolute maze to find. The direction to enter the place is not easy. From the get go it looks like you’re trying to figure out a puzzle to get into. The drinks were unique but I did not enjoy them as much as I did the food. The place is fancy and cozy though I found it very small compared to what I had expected from the reviews and picture from the websites. And talking about the prices I feel it’s exorbitantly high. The atmosphere is super nice.

I like how nepalese orientated the drinks are . Vegan food options little bit limited but this did not spoil my experience . I still enjoyed my time here . A very good place to be. The drinks were nice, and the ambience is spot on, though I do wish it had a better view. The food portions looked a bit less at first but were actually quite fulfilling. The crispy honey garlic chicken wings were better than I expected, actually crispy-crispy and really good. The kimchi fried rice was average for me, so I wouldn’t recommend that one. It is on the pricier side, but honestly most bars and restaurants in Kathmandu, even the average one, cost about the same these days. Overall, definitely recommended. They also have a separate door labeled Barc+, which I’m really curious about. And there’s a kind of secret entrance; a couple of tourists were walking away when I arrived because they couldn’t find the door and thought it was closed, so I had to show them where it was. Adds to the vibe, I guess.
