Really enjoyed our visit to Cafe Unfiltered. The strawberry peanut butter matcha was amazing, and the sourdough with eggs, avocado, turkey bacon was seriously good. The sandwich with burrata and cheese was also fresh and full of flavor. The interior has a beautiful aesthetic and the atmosphere feels very local and relaxed; you can tell this is a place appreciated by Rotterdam locals. Service was friendly and welcoming throughout the visit as well. A bit on the pricey side. Aside from that, definitely a place we recommend for brunch, coffee or a laid-back lunch in the city. Wonderful banana bread, the coffee was nice too. The cookie was stale and crunchy, and tasted like just sugar rather than whatever flavor it was meant to be (matcha or pandan??)

I’m a bit surprised by the recent reviews and honestly find them rather unfair, as this place is actually quite nice! The food menu offers some interesting options, and I had the chance to try the scrambled truffle eggs, fried eggs, and toasted banana bread. Both egg dishes were delicious, though the banana bread was a bit too sweet for my taste. The wait time for food can be longer if there are multiple orders ahead, as there’s only one person behind the kitchen counter. However, drinks are served quickly, and my coffee was excellent. On another visit, I tried the cold coconut foam matcha -

We came on Sunday, 4 staff members were working, and only 2 guests were waiting for their drinks. We ordered an espresso and a matcha latte, plus toasted banana bread. After 15 minutes of waiting, I asked what was happening with our order (because I’ve seen how the barista started making take-away drinks for people who came after us), and they brought our drinks pretty fast, like in 4 minutes. I asked what was happening with my food order (I was looking in the kitchen, and there was nothing happening). The barista said “yes”, went away, came back after 2 minutes and asked what we had ordered.
