First time in Zwolle and at La Sqalla. We had the chef’s menu and it was marvellous, really succulent. Since I was fasting, the chef even adapted the menu to match an iftar, which I truly appreciated. Incredible food, very warm service, and very innovative cuisine. As a Moroccan, it was wonderful to see Moroccan food revisited in such a creative way ans combined with other cuisines. The décor is also beautiful, I will definitely come back ✨️

It was a lovely dinner here. We had the chefs menu and thoroughly enjoyed it. Beyond all others we enjoyed the calimari. They were as good as the best we had had in Spain and worlds apart from anything we ever had in the Netherlands. The shrimp and aubergine tapenade were also highlights of the meal. Outside of the meal itself we had tremendous but quaint service from the friendly host. Though the music was at times surprisingly loud. Not so much that you had to speak up, but loud enough to warrant paying more attention to the words of your party.

Food not tasty in general. Several pieces of puff pastry filled with chicken prepared with hardly any imagination and craftmanship. Dry not too fresh serrano ham.Too much eggplant, e.g. with honey (again) as a dessert, disgusting actually, bad combination. The cook must have had a day off. Even the Moroccon tea was not boiling hot. The service was excellent and joyful however. But for this poor quality of food the price was way too high.

A.B.★★★★

Overall, we had a great experience with good service, a nice atmosphere, and enjoyable food. The only downside was that we were not informed in advance about the price of the set menu, which was the only option available. We were quite surprised at the end to find that the food cost over €75 per person. Greater transparency about pricing beforehand, as well as some flexibility in choosing the number of courses or dishes per course, would have made the experience even better.
