About

What people say

It looks like a restaurant established by a group of sisters born between the years 1951 and 1961 ! From soups to main dishes, everything is made by their hands, and the taste is very homely, filled with lots of love! If you are nearby, it is worth coming to try it!
Having a meal with family was enjoyable. The environment and the food are fantastic. The most important thing is that there are many elders working there, and the grandmothers are hospitable.
The food was delicious, I was very satisfied, and the environment was clean and quiet. I really liked this place.

Love this place! A must visit Japanese era historical house which belonged to a Japanese doctor that contributed to Taichung city in the past. Now it became a restaurant. I love their concept hiring “grandma” staff (or middle age?). The food was very tasty. The dessert I wanted to try was “Miyahara heart” which was purple sweet potato tiramisu, but too bad it ran out. You can visit other area in the house to learn about this history of this place and buy local merchant as souvenirs. It is a barrier free restaurant/cafe and there is a barrier free toilet.

餐點非常精緻美味,推薦提拉米蘇 In response to the arrival of aged society, and to demonstrate the principle of “active aging” promoted by WHO, Hondao Senior Citizen’s Welfare Foundation led 17 grandriders with an average age of 81 completed the motorcycle tour around the island in 2007. Since that time, the “Bulao spirit” began to spread in Taiwan. Dreams turn new pages for life, and they continue to thrive into the twilight of their lives. In 2016, Hondao Senior Citizen’s Welfare Foundation responded to the city government’s policies of senior citizen’s welfare and revitalization of the Residence of Miyahara Takeo, and adopted the concept of “senior citizens, culture & creativity , and engagement” to create the space, BULAO 125.

Happened across this beautiful tree-shaded building one day and wow, what a wonderful place! Cozy and cute, this Japanese-era home has been converted into a restaurant/coffee shop. All the treats, meals and drinks are made in-house by the elderly employees who run the place. This is a special project of a nonprofit that cares for the elderly. A great place to slow down and enjoy the warm hospitality. One visit will bring a smile to your face!
