Paula B★★★★★My favourite place in Aberdeen by far. We always pop in for lunch or a coffee and this time we booked an afternoon tea with a voucher I bought my mum for Christmas. We were blown away by the friendly service from everybody and our lovely comfy seats by the fire. My Chai latte was amazing and the afternoon tea was impressive. A really delicious selection of sandwiches including tuna mayo, ham and cheese (with thick cut ham), and egg mayo, crisps, the tastiest scones we have ever had, freshly baked and warm, with jam and butter, and mini red velvet cakes, brownies, and macarons. To say we were
Allan MacIver★★★★★It was nice to be back in Aberdeen and to revisit Books and Beans. We ordered downstairs and sat upstairs. I love the selection of second hand books, they have an enormous selection. It was really quiet for a Friday morning, I am not sure why. My friend and I enjoyed our time here. This cafe/bookshop has survived a long time and I hope the quiet day was a one off. Great to be here once again.
Bill Tinley★★★We both went for the smashed avocado. Generous helping on four triangles of toast, but the bread was pretty standard sliced brown. There was no evidence of the lemon zest listed in the ingredients. The herb was coriander, not the listed parsley. Overall, a bit dry. A drizzle of oil would have helped. Good coffee. At £27 for two, not wonderful value.
Ghala Alrabah★★★★Lovely cozy space in aberdeen! I will say the scones are a bit dry and a touch too sweet but otherwise everything is perfect 👌 I'd reccomend this place for a cozy, quiet reading date or just a simple hangout with family or friends. It's a bit small but there's a second and first floor. The place isn't small in a suffocating way, it actually just adds to the cozy vibe! Would come again but I'd skip the scones unfortunately
