Advertising a beer garden, but it's completely covered, no sunshine getting in at all. People were walking in and straight out again. 2 people in the bar on a sunny Friday evening. Yet other places with actual sunshine were busy.

I've been going to the Goat's Toe for years, I like it's vibe, the upstairs seating and beer garden, and it does a decent feed too. However this week we popped in on May Day, my first visit in a while. We hadn't placed a reservation but were quickly sat down at a window booth. The food menu at Flight mode is inventive and executed flawlessly. We were immediately impressed by the quality and flavour of the dishes ordered: The Wings (Hot Honey): The wings were superb. They were perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy within. A special shout-out must go to the hot honey flavour, which struck an ideal balance between sweet stickiness and a satisfying kick of heat. Very limited food options, which would make you at least think they could get simple orders right, unfortunately not, 6 of us eating, the food came out, none of it hot, 2 orders wrong and had to be replaced, kids Mac and cheese virtually inedible. Staff were apologetic but not in a genuine way. Darts was entertaining but one of the boards was malfunctioning, could be a great venue but nothing was done well, just all feels very half-hearted which was incredibly disappointing. Such a shame as it has real potential.
