Came for the Thursday pub quiz. Despite being busy, service was quick. Good range of alcohol free beers. Didn't try the food but did look and smell really good 😋 Quiz was well run and good fun. Easy to play along using the app It did mean, however ,it was quite loud and busy so comments don't reflect a normal evening. Recommend reserving for quiz night. Imagine it's not so busy rest of the week.

Great pub. Staff are always friendly. Drinks and food come promptly but are always nice. I lost my id in the pub and they found it with no bother. Haven’t got anything bad to say about the acorn. Thank you 🙂x

25/Feb/2026. I have been visiting most days of the week for the last two and a half years. A sizzler pub, the same as The Swan but more pleasant staff, "service with a smile" and the breakfast is cooked properly. A small classic breakfast or a large. Unlimited coffee and toast. Mark will prepare your breakfast how you like it.

Chose to come here for a family birthday, as we’d had good experiences before. Table booked at 6pm. Food didn’t appear until 7.15; most of the dishes were overcooked, dry and cold. Skillets weren’t only served on the wrong plates, but appeared after other people who’d ordered the same were served before our party – totally unacceptable. We were initially offered a free round of drinks as compensation, but in the light of our experience we didn’t want to stay any longer, and were eventually refunded in full. The serving staff had to take the rap for the apparent chaos in the kitchen. Probably f
