Really disappointed with our visit. We ordered two full breakfasts at £8.95 each, and the lady taking our order asked if we wanted toast. My partner said yes, assuming (as most people would) that it was included. She then said “2 each,” which we took to mean two slices per person as part of the breakfast. We were later charged £4.40 for four slices of toast – something we were never told would be extra. Nowhere on the menu did it say toast would be charged separately, and that’s what we were going by. We live in Liverpool and try come here at least once 2 times a month. This is a place that has never changed since we where children and we are in our 40s now. The food is old school cafe/canteen diner food, completely fresh and dose not brake the bank.food ranges from classic fish and chips, the most humongous sandwichs and deserts from cake to Sundays. They have the best cups of tea in the northwest, we dont know how but it's perfect every time. The staff are friendly and attentive every time. Lovely traditional cafe with excellent staff. The food is good, the fish is exceptional - best I've had for a long time, freshly battered and cooked while you wait and the batter is perfect - crispy, dry and tasty. No bones in the fish either. Portions could be a bit larger on the chips if I'm being picky. Service was great and all of the staff are friendly and welcoming. The cafe itself has plenty of comfortable seating and a lovely atmosphere to it. Prices were great - cheaper than the less nice looking sea front cafes, with better food and ambience. Been coming here since I was a kid (over 25 years) It's like an old style canteen/diner still in the 60s and I absolutely love that. The food it always lovely, tables are always clean and reasonably priced. We will never go anywhere else while in Blackpool ❤️
