Another coffee shop review, Good ratings online and a lovely place to sit and the two cakes we had were lovely. Started to get bad vibes when the menu doesnt have any "black coffee" options. But we ordered 2 Americano's. Sad looking thing as it arrives at the table with no crema and a strange tint. It tastes as it looks, not good. Had 1 drink and had to leave it. When you pay £4 for a coffee you expect it to be poured by a trained barista that can at least pour it with a crema. A bar wouldn't serve a £7 pint of beer with no head on it. I visited Java Joe today at around 2pm and ordered a matcha latte, specifically asking for it to be made less sweet. I also asked the girl serving me at the counter whether it would be okay if I practised makeup on my friend while having coffee, as I am currently training to become a makeup artist. She told me that it would be fine. I explained that I did not see any issue, as many people use cafés as places to work, study and meet others, and she again said it should be fine. We first stopped by here and just grabbed a quick drink from the drive through. The service was amazing and the masala chai latte and pistachio frappe were delicious. So much so we had to return and try the food as well. The sweets and savoury were so good and the service was just as good as before. Really lovely atmosphere inside too, plenty of places to sit and enjoy. We will definitely return again when we are in the area.

I have been coming to Java since it has opened but lately the coffee has not been consistent at all. Not sure if the roast has changed but has been very inconsistent in terms of whether you are getting a good quality drink or where the roast doesn’t taste how it usually does. Service is lovely as always but drinks have not been up to standard as of late. Hope this can get fixed as I love coming here!
