We had an absolutely fantastic experience and the food was outstanding from start to finish. For starters, my husband had the veg samosas, onion bhajis, and the spicy poppadoms — all of which were amazing. Perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and clearly freshly made. For our main, we had the aubergine curry served with rice and roti, and it was absolutely delicious. Rich, comforting, and beautifully spiced — easily one of the best vegan curries we’ve had. We were celebrating my wife’s birthday. I had high expectations for this restaurant, based on the reviews I had read. The positives were: The owner tended to us and was very friendly. The food portions were quite large, so much so that we took home a sizable doggy bag. The negatives were: My wife felt that most of the food, although tasty, was a bit too salty. The Madras Onion Rings were raw and cold. There was no where in the menu description that indicated this. CRISPY implies fried. Had a lovely dinner with friends. We were recommended dishes and cocktails and looked after from the moment we stepped into the restaurant. It was a shame they did not have some of the wine available. However the food was delicious and very tasty. I feel we should have been recommended we had ordered too much food for our table as we had a lot left over and we're unable to take it home. Would definitely return again if we were in the area.
