My fiancée and I visited here the weekend just gone. And we loved it, the food was immaculate. Starters, sharing main and dessert was all fantastic. We ordered different starters and desserts so we could both taste the menu, and we weren’t disappointed. Fab cost for two of us having a bottle of wine aswell. Would recommend!

We began with drinks — a French martini as an aperitif, smooth and elegant but could have been a bit stronger and Bière Napoleon, which was genuinely excellent. Crisp, characterful, and far better than a standard house beers. The menu is intentionally limited, but everything we tried delivered. We ordered different starters to share, including the Soufflé Cuit Deux Fois au Fromage Fumé, a twice-baked smoked cheese soufflé that was rich yet light and deeply comforting. The Soupe à l’Oignon Française Classique was full of depth, with a rich beef broth and melted cheese — classic and warming. We

Wow—what a discovery. I eat out in Cardiff regularly, from top-rated restaurants and tapas bars to chains, takeaways, and pop-ups, but Maison de Boeuf truly stands out alongside places like Pasture, The Ivy, and Miller & Carter. Despite being open for three years, we only found it through word of mouth—and what a find it was. The concept is unique, yet the quality is absolutely top-tier. The set menu includes three starters, a main of steak frites with a side salad (plus a vegan option), and three classic French desserts. Portions are generous—more than enough to satisfy even the biggest appet

Lovely experience! We went on a Sunday evening so was some live music which was lovely- not too loud to chat! The steak was lovely! I had the apple tart for dessert and my partner had the crème brûlée- both amazing ! We don’t drink alcohol so had a coke and lemonade each and our total came to around £78 for two courses and two drinks - no complaints at all and will be returning on our next visit to Cardiff! It was quite tight spacing so if you are claustrophobic I’d recommend going on a slower evening :)
