Lovely under the radar bakery with more than 100 years of history. I took the chocolate and hazelnut twice bake, and it was extraordinary. This was pastry turned into architecture: a burnished, brittle exterior giving way to countless fine, buttery, crispy layers. The hazelnut frangipane was the real triumph. It was lavishly packed into the pastry, fragrant and deeply nutty, closer to a roasted hazelnut cream. When I arrived, there was already a long queue at the door, with many people - adults and children - buying pastries and many taking them away. The dining area was roughly seven metres by seven metres, with a large display case filled with food—pastries, sourdough loaves, cookies, cakes, and much more. This is a popular French bakery that opened recently in Kentish Town. I was quite surprised that it opened in the heart of KT, thus i had to stop by when I had the chance to. As you walk in, you’re immediately welcomed by a wide selection of pastries and sandwiches as well as their big open bakery at the back. The first time I visited, I got the mango sandwich. To my own dismay and faults, I dropped that sandwich and was quite gutted. I tried to get one the next day, but it seems like they change up their sandwich menu each day, thus got the jerk chicken one instead. Bread was lovely and soft
