A lovely 20 minute walk around the lake. Some interesting side walks into woods or open playing areas 2 car parks one large and one very small by the water sports centre. No facilities so get a drink and toilet before you come

Lovely 1-mile circular route around the mere. Well maintained gravel paths, with the option to explore the woods and beyond. Good for families and dog walkers as there is no cycling permitted, so don't need to look out for them. On site cafe and toilets, and very cheap parking that goes towards maintaining the park.

Absolutely beautiful. 2.5 mile round walk from the visit centre with a couple of hides to also walk to. Deserted when we went so we had the huge beach to ourselves. Definitely recommend for nature lovers and walkers and those who want to bird and animal watch.

Love walking around the mere. Can make your walk long or short, a mile round the lake or go round the back of houses on public path past the community orchard and join the wooded path above the mere and your looking at two miles. I did four miles weaving about the mere and paths. A shame anglers have obstructed the scenery putting up the high geen mesh fencing. Always finish at GGs for a coffee and a toastie. Great for walking the dogs. Great for the kids to have a run around on the greens. No playground as such, but my grandson has never complained about visiting Astbury Mere, we take a footb
