What a disappointing Xmas lunch we had. I booked this back in October and paid over £300 for 3 of us. There was no Xmas music, no one greeted us as we arrived, none of the staff were wearing anything Xmassy, there was no Christmas atmosphere at all. But worst of all we arrived at 12.30 and got served our main meal after having to ask for it at 2.50pm. At that stage it wasn't even that busy. It was getting busy as we left but between 1 - 2.30 there were still tables empty around us. The meal was tasty but not worth over £90! The main was a couple bits of turkey, a potato or 2, a bit of veg and

Great welcome at the pub which was perfect for our meet up of three families, plus extra friends. Tasty lunch with an excellent variety of dishes (inc. roasts with notable lamb roast special). Nachos and deep fried cauliflower also excellent. Will certainly visit again when in the area. The proximity to the park is excellent.

Returned to the Plough early this week to check the "experience" again. Can honestly say it was really good. Staff were very helpful and served up terrific pasta for me and my wife commented that she had the best burger she had had in ages! While I do appreciate Summer beer selection is heavily lager friendly, the drinks were also great.

My lover and I arrived for a Sunday roast, impeccable service from a young Irish chap who may have underestimated my bottomless pit of a stomach when ordering the “to share” roast to myself, the better half had beef. A delicious display arrived and inhaled thusly. Atmosphere dropped a star due to only being half of the tables full but not a notch on the pub whatsoever. I would recommend to any and all.
