I am disappointed to have to write this review! As a student I have been to the common beaver through out the last two years of my uni experience and I have watched the staff become increasingly rude and unwelcoming. The food and drink here is amazing but unfortunately the way the staff have spoken to myself and others has been unjustifiably rude. This consistent pattern of behaviour has now deterred me from going or recommending this place. It is such a shame as the food and cafe itself are lovely.

I've bern in the UK for a month and visited quite a few cafes - nobody makes coffee like these guys. Smooth with just the right hit of caffeine. Super friendly with just the right tunes playing. It's no wonder all the locals were here and not across the road. Updated 17 Oct - Alex, Sam, Tom and the crew are great. I'm still searching for a cafe in Exeter to beat The Common Beaver and so far there is no one that can beat these guys making coffee. Their cakes are fantastic and bagels are awesome. Just don't bother going anywhere else but here - you'll be wickedly disappointed

Friendly cafe in student area of Exeter. Great bagels, cakes and hot drinks. Sit outside in the summer and people watch with an iced coffee, or perch inside in the winter with a steaming coffee. Great vibe, really helpful staff.
