Regular customers of The Whitegate and always enjoy the food served. Party of 7 attended tonight for an birthday celebration and had a really lovely night. Seated at a private, spacious table, not rushed but Jodie catered for our every need despite being very busy with what appeared to be minimal staff. Jodie was polite, respectful and nothing was too much trouble. Only criticism of the evening was a tiny, minimalist alternative salad with my steak, no big deal and will stick to the tasty triple cooked chips in future! This is based over a week of staying at the next door hotel and dining here for a week. Breakfast is a decent option of continental and hot foods. The option for a full English breakfast is available and you do not need to get all parts which is nice. Some days the yogurt and fruit was not on ice which have cause for concern in regards to food poisoning. I highly recommend the breakfast. If you have kids take advantage of the kids eat free deal. Great breakfast cooked quite well and served quickly. Buffet was good with good selection of pastries and cereals. Best coffee from a machine, but quite a queue as only 1 machine. Staff excellent, service quick and friendly despite being quite busy.
