Mike Lawrence★★★★★Lovely friendly staff, really nice atmosphere and a fantastic Sunday dinner! If you're just off the Le Shuttle, this is a great place to refuel your stomach! We'd just got off the Channel Tunnel from France very hungry, and stumbled across the Famous Ship Inn only 5/10 mins away. We had a great friendly greeting at the bar, settled onto a table and ordered 2 Sunday dinners and a kids fish fingers & chips. The food was really great quality, came piping hot and all freshly cooked. It really hit the spot, was well worth the money. Highly recommend!
J H★Popped in for a light lunch, not having visited before. Not given a warm welcome by staff. Asked for a menu, saw the high cost but hoped it would be worth it. Staff seemed impatient that we didn’t know what to have within 2 minutes of looking at what was on offer. We decided to have King prawns and vegetarian baguette. Waited a long time for these to arrive. When they did we were less than impressed. My prawns arrived swimming in a buttery looking, less than appetising liquid. In my ignorance I didn’t realise I had to decapitate the prawns (4 of them for £11.00!) and I told the less than helpf
G Bernie★★★★★Lovely pub in a great location. We went for sunday lunch which was really tasty with a good choice of dishes. I ordered pie and mash. It was really really good.
callum hughes★★★★★had a really lovely experience. The service was excellent from start to finish, and everything felt very welcoming and well-organised. Our waitress was blonde and she was especially friendly, attentive, and professional. She checked in at the right times and made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. It made the whole visit feel relaxed and enjoyable. I’d definitely come back again and would happily recommend this place to others.
