C Khan★★★★Located in a stunning red brick building—formerly a gentleman’s club and the Royal Conservatory of Music—Chaophraya is a true architectural gem on Buchanan Street. We had walked past this magnificent building many times and finally decided to step inside for lunch. The interior is breathtaking. The restaurant seamlessly blends heritage features, like the high plaster-carved ceilings of the original ballroom, with golden Thai deities. It feels like stepping into a fascinating Asian world right in the heart of Glasgow. The Food: * Starters: We began with the spring rolls and fried prawn cakes. T
John Barrett★★★★★I met with some friends. The food was lovely. It's easily amongst the best I've ever had. Thai food is usually full of flavour but this was excellent. The beef was so tender and the prawns had just a tiny crunch to them which I like and there were so many other flavourful ingredients in there. The staff were friendly and very polite. They patiently helped us figure out what meal was whose in our confusion of the dishes names. The meals did take a while to come but I wouldn't know how long these dishes would take to cook. Andrew Horrocks★★★★★Went for the cooking class and thoroughly enjoyed it. Free beer and prosecco were a nice addition, but the main event of getting to cook Tom Yum Thai soup and. Pad Thai Noodles; and then eat them was great. The food was delicious. The staff were really helpful, friendly and gave us quite a bit of interesting information about Thai food as we cooked. Would definitely recommend and will probably go back to learn how to cook the other menu.
Charmaine Jones★★★★★Beautiful lunch. We opted for 5 sharing small plates for 2 people. Followed but sorbet & chocolate desserts. They were all served beautifully and all tasted amazing. Lovely restaurant with helpful & friendly staff.
