If you’re staying at the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central, do yourself a favor and cross the street to Wee Mamak. It’s small, but the flavors are massive! Singapore Laksa: Having lived in Singapore, I’m picky—but this was spot on. Perfectly cooked, rich broth, and that authentic traditional taste I’ve been missing. Teh Tarik (Singapore Tea): Exactly how it should be. Creamy, frothy, and took me right back to the streets of Southeast Asia. It’s a simple, no-fuss spot focused entirely on quality. If you love authentic South East Asian cuisine, this is easily one of the best in the city.

A true Malaysian gem in the UK Wee Mamak is officially my favourite Malaysian restaurant in the UK. As a Malaysian, I was so happy with the food here. True Malaysian hospitality too 🌺🇲🇾 My friend and I had the wat tan hor (stir fried flat noodles in a silky egg broth with chicken and seafood), gado gado (cucumber, pineapple, tofu and beansprout salad with a rich peanut sauce), roti canai (apologies we were too excited to eat this and forgot to take a picture of it whole!) and stuffed aubergines and tofu. Mamak milk tea to wash it all down and hot chrysanthemum tea to finish the meal. Will definitely be back! Prices very reasonable too.
