Brought my wife here the day after late May bank holiday as we opted for a quieter evening meal. We arrived 5pm and it was very quiet. Seated quickly and all service was prompt and without issue. We had a starter and main each and both were lovely. The atmosphere was nice and by the time we received our starters the place began filling up (but not packed) so it became a warmer atmosphere and a little less intimate 😅. Noticed another review mentioned the need for more staff and I can see that being possible.. there were x2 FOH staff but both were very busy even with a quiet restaurant. We sat

I have dined at the pickled goose at Broughton 3 times now and the food and the service have been excellent each time. The manager Jamie is a thoroughly professional and respectful man. The other staff I encountered were equally polite and professional. The food was prepared fresh and of high quality. The whole place is very clean and well kept inside and out. I only had a club sandwich on this occasion but I have had other items on previous visits all of which have been very good quality and cooked perfectly. The menus and prices are published on their website. You will not be disappointed. T

The traditional frontage rather unfairly disguises its true identity as a modern, fresh eatery. I highly recommend The Pickled Goose for its perfect balance of high quality food, comfortable and relaxing atmosphere, cleanliness, attentive, friendly service… and excellent price point. It does, in my opinion, everything well. It’s a restaurant standard take on a higher quality pub like menu (with unique offerings such as beetroot risotto!) and interior with a friendly, relaxed vibe with fresh, quality food neatly presented. Everyone enjoyed their meals! It’s apparently dog friendly too… doubt yo
