We came here to enjoy a lovely fish supper, taking advantage of the early bird menu - 2 courses for £27- available between 5.30 and 6.30pm. The interior was quaint and charming and our host was attentive and friendly. For starters, we enjoyed the king scallops (small extra charge) and the blue waldorf salad. Both were excellent. For mains, we enjoyed the sea bream with prawn and artichoke risotto. The fish was perfectly cooked, with a buttery crispy skin. Risotto was just gorgeous. Excellent meal on Thursday Feb 19. I had smoked scallop and crab crostini followed by king prawn and crab linguine and my partner had moules, garlic, shallots in a cream sauce followed by smoked haddock, mash, pancetta, mustard sauce and a poached egg. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Recommended 👌

I had lunch at Drum and Monkey with my family. The portion sizes were decent and good value, but unfortunately the food itself was quite tasteless and lacked seasoning and depth of flavour, which was disappointing. Perhaps I should’ve chosen a different main. That said, I absolutely cannot fault the service. Our waitress, Maria, was amazing — warm, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome throughout the meal. Her service was the highlight of the visit and really elevated the experience despite the food not quite delivering.
