Marco Polo Restaurant Hartlepool, United Kingdom Diabolical January 2026 This was one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had. We arrived at 6.30pm and initially ordered 2 starters. They managed to get one of them wrong so we had to wait while the correct starter was prepared. The mussel starter was ok but the garlic mushrooms were absolutely disgusting - supposedly cream and garlic sauce; very little cream and the garlic was definitely not fresh but probably powdered, leaving a bitter taste in the mouth. ( my daughter went to the loo and threw up after eating it). The Chicken Dian

We were with a large group, 40+, which is always a challenge for the kitchen and staff on top of other patrons. The whole thing was handled efficiently and expertly. I had pasta Con Polo, which wasn't really up to snuff in my opinion. Not horrid or anything, just a bit bland. The dessert, Biscoff Cheesecake, was very good and made up for it. My wife had the Chicken Alfredo and was pleased with hers, overall. She had Hot Chocolate Layer Cake for afters and said it also was very good.

Food fantastic and decent price's for 2 or 3 course meals. Recommend to anyone looking for a good night out. Staff all very friendly and helpful nothing to much trouble for the customer.

Parmos chicken was pink all the way through and had bits of red still in it absolutely disgusting!🤮 Didn’t even look like chicken more like pork or gammon.
