Tucked away just off the main square, in one of Kendal’s historic yards, lies Marra, a culinary oasis serving delicious, comforting, rustic food in a relaxing and friendly environment. It’s easy to miss since its entrance is so unassuming, but I urge you NOT to walk by without poking your head in. That’s what my wife and I did, and were greeted by a tranquil garden courtyard and patio that beckoned to explore further. An absolute must if you want a cosy spot with lots of character. Marra has everything you could wish for: great food, peaceful atmosphere, and friendly and efficient staff. It is hidden down a short alley but that adds to the charm. Would highly recommend it for locals or if you’re passing through.

Fabulous little hidden gem off the main street in Kendal. We're so happy we found Marra, the coffee was amazing and the pizzas were the best we've had in the UK for a long time. We're definitely going to be back! Staff were friendly, efficient and laid back. Great attitude from all of them, they're lovely. Takeaway cakes were delicious too!!
