If you’re looking for authentic Malaysian flavours in Newcastle, Chilli Padi is definitely worth a visit. The place is small and always buzzing, but that actually adds to the whole atmosphere — you can feel the energy the moment you walk in. The standout here is absolutely the food. Everything we tried tasted authentic, rich in flavour, and clearly prepared with care. Their menu is packed with Malaysian favourites like beef rendang, roti canai, laksa, and char kway teow, and many people rave about how close the flavours are to the real thing. The food also arrives surprisingly quickly even

If you are an Indonesian, this place offers various food that taste like home too..😋 Honestly, I could not recommend this place enough. My partner and I ordered the king prawn you tiao - which are delicate, light and the prawn feels fresh. Then, the beef rendang, for Indonesian, this does taste different than an Indonesian rendang but it is such a flavourful and the spices are just perfect. I would say it is more coconut-y and more spicy than a typical sweet rendang that has smooth sauces, and nothing wrong with that! What I love from our dishes we ordered, is the kueh teow goreng! This was my second visit to Chilli Padi, a restaurant that comes highly recommended. Overall, the experience was decent, though not quite at its best this time. The food arrived very quickly, which gave the impression that the kitchen may have been rushing. I ordered the nasi goreng; while the dish was okay but the mushrooms were unfortunately raw and the seasoning leaned a little too heavy. On a more positive note, the salt and chilli prawns were well executed and enjoyable. The roti canai was satisfactory, but the accompanying curry sauce stood out as the highlight, flavorful, and well bal

Food was amazing, as always. Staff were very attentive and friendly. The music wasn't too loud, and we could talk to each other without having to shout over the music. Unfortunately, you cannot take your own alcohol there anymore, as they have stopped that, which is a shame because they don't have much choices when it comes to alcoholic drinks. It was a little cold for me us and everytime the door opened, we felt the cold
