We had an absolutely delicious Birthday meal and the service was fantastic too! Adil gave me some Ice cream with a Birthday candle which was very kind and thoughtful. Abdul the head waiter, who has worked there for 36+ years was really great, warm, friendly and very welcoming. We all had a lovely evening! When my sister asked for some chunky Chips and I asked for Corriander on my Nann, Abdul gladly agreed, as he really wanted us to enjoy our meals. We will definitely be returning and 100% recommend the Simla 👍

What a wonderful dinner we had at Simla last night! We were a party of 3 and happy to get a last minute reservation for 8:30 on a Sunday night. We were warmly greeted and well cared for the entire time by Abdul who shared the family history of the 43 year-old restaurant, including pointing out the beautiful remodeling done by the original owner's daughters. The decor is beautiful, warm colors and lighting with eye catching artwork everywhere. Even the restroom was pretty. Abdul gave great food and wine recommendations. We really.loved all the food and had not one single complaint. The Goan

Been to this restaurant twice now visiting Newcastle & both times it was amazing! I generally always go for the “same” and the “usual” when having an Indian meal. This time I opted for the Handi lazeez, it was gorgeous. There wasn’t much spice to it but it was so tasty and flavoursome! I would highly recommend this for someone wanting to try something a little different! The bowl of poppadums was a nice touch too. Great effort Team Simla 🎉

the best indian restaurant in newcastle!! the food was beyond amazing and the service was equally as good! we got a free cheese naan and felt very welcomed by all the staff. we got pakoras for starters - delish. then we shared the side versions of the bengali channa, crispy bhindi dopiaza, bombay aloo and karahi paneer a garlic naan and saffron rice. the rice was AMAZING. and the bengali channa with the dopiaza on top was a beautiful combination. vegetarian menu was super good and sectioned off so it was easy to distinguish. HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND WILL BE BACK !! ⭐️⭐️
