I haven’t had a decent Indian meal for a while, so we decided to try Tipu Sultan. We still haven’t had a decent Indian meal for a while! The venue itself has ample parking and the decor inside is nice. It’s clean, well decorated and the menu looks appealing. We opted for the Popadom and pickle tray, samosa chat, peshwari chicken, pilau rice and garlic naan. This was enough for two of us. The samosa chat was awful, like a blended samosa heavily coated in tamarind sauce and yoghurt. The popadoms were ok, but you can’t really mess that up. The peshwari chicken was ok, just ok. Not too spicy

The restaurant is clean and airy. The decor gives it character. The food is good but a little too spicy for my palette. Food portions were reasonable and well prepared. This is not your bog standard curry house and many of the items on the menu are particular to Pakistan and North East India. Be aware it is a strictly alcohol free restaurant, so you can't even get an alcohol free beer.

Visited Tipu Sultan in Oadby and had a really good experience overall. The food was good and the service was impressive — the waiters knew the menu well and gave good recommendations on what to order. We tried the Kashmiri naan (£5), which was totally worth it, and the gosht (lamb) curry was excellent — full of flavour and cooked perfectly. We also ordered a platter for 4 adults and one child; the total bill came to around £61, which felt reasonable for the quantity and quality. The mango lassi was awesome and a must-try. Do expect a crowd during weekends, but the service was still well manage

Absolutely loved my experience at Tipu Sultan Restaurant with my friends. Easy parking with a large private car park and plenty of spaces. We ordered a few platters, kebabs, and karahis, and everything was full of flavour and cooked perfectly. The food tasted fresh, authentic, and absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere and friendly staff as well. Definitely worth it and will be coming back again!
