Great food, steak was perfect. Yummy cocktails. The toilets are decorative. Restaurant area is small, so if you wish to sit in the Restaurant best to book. However plenty of tables throughout the pub. Brownie was yummy, but tasted more like chocolate sponge than a brownie.

We just wanted a nice pre theatre dinner, not far from the New Theatre. What a find, this pub has amazing menu and beautifully cooked food. Fresh, tasty and well presented. Good period waiting for food whilst enjoying a drink. Good gap between courses too. The scallop starter was amazing, as was the pork and scallops and my pappardelle with prawns, crab and scallops. Only slight issue for me was there were too many hot red chilli’s in it.

It was surprisingly difficult to find a pub which still serves Sunday roast in the evening, but the Red Lion delivered! Our friends from the Netherlands really wanted to try the Sunday roast - they really enjoyed the meal!

Service was appalling but the food was great. We were directed to a table when we arrived with our dog. We waited over 10 mins for someone to bring over the menu but no one did. So I went over to the front desk and the girl behind just stood there chatting with her colleague watching me while I stood waiting. I called out and asked her for the menus. She said you order at your table it's self service. Self service? What do you mean? Oh there's a QR code on the table for the menu for you to order yourself she said. Ok so I went back to the table after telling her it would be useful if you told
