We stopped in for a late lunch and a pint to get out of the summer heat and were greeted by Tom, the friendly bartender. He told us about the special of the day - a pie and a pint - so that's what we ordered. They were easily the best pies with a nice balance of meat filling and a light and tender crust. Visiting Poole, looked at reviews for Sunday lunch & booked here - wow it was incredible so came back for a second visit later in the week and again, food was fantastic. Staff are welcoming, friendly & very passionate about their menu. Would highly recommend Rope & Anchor and definitely book a table if you’re wanting Sunday lunch 🍽️

Visited for Sunday lunch. The pork was superb but unfortunately the beef was a bit gristly and chewy. The atmosphere was lovely though and the beers fantastic, really pleasant pub. Service was a little slow but that didnt worry us too much as we were in no hurry. Vegan roast was also available
