A regretful review (featuring the burnt fish.) Not sure where to start unfortunately, a very disappointing experience all round. I try and leave positive reviews to support local businesses but I can’t do the same in this case. I had high expectations for this one due to the website claiming a ‘unique dining experience’ with ‘commitment to quality’. Detailed review below: Service - unsure on the decision making here, but no table service / welcome on entry isn’t a great start for a sit down meal. Beautiful decorated place and venue. First time visitor and was pleasantly surprised by size and decor. Did smell very fishy when we walked in. Big menu lots of choice but confusing with the amount of menus, pizza menu out but no pizza that day etc. Specials board with fish meals on. Variety of options. Ordered the seabass fishcakes with ginger and lime, chips and peas. No peas came. Fishcakes very dark in colour and flay, tasty though and hot. Chips cooler in temperature but very tasty. Sauce served in one of those ugly paper pots you get in fast food chains. Disappointed. Cutlery came in cru

Parking is good, reserved a table,an excellent choice of food, chose fish and chips as I had seen others ordering it,the fish was cooked well but was massive, staff very polite and attentive, this is my second visit and wasn't disappointed, a very busy place so booking a table is probably recommended, very close to Newstead Abbey the home of Lord Byron, excellent eatery after a trip around the Abbey

Food was spot on, Good portions and good quality. The only flaw was the fact I wasn't informed I had to go to the bar to place my food order, so our group was sat down for a fair bit of time before we realised. Great atmosphere, clean and tidy. Will be going for another visit in the future.
