Kam Lau★Less than a shadow of its former self! This business has clearly changed hands - not sure when exactly but the quality of fayre is now very poor but charged at premium prices. Ordered a margherita pizza at £12.50 and a sausage roll at £3. Pizza was floppy - dough was premade, but most disturbing was that the cheese was rank. It was cheap cheddar and obviously smelled rank. I was brought up to never waste food, but even so I could only stomach a couple of slices before discarding. The sausage roll was only marginally better, although only lukewarm at best and poorer quality than what you'd fin
Abhirut Gupta★★Food was SO bad. The eggs had no seasoning at all, the burger was dry and the bun wasn't even toasted properly and the cheese was just slapped on top (didn't bother melting it or anything). I wasn't expecting gourmet food but this was just the minimum expect effort when you're charging people for food.
Jane T★★★★It's really good that there is a cafe at the Lido. The cafe is really clean and there is a large selection of savoury and sweet food options. Service is functional but lacks a customer service that would encourage one to return regularly. I'm sure the rent for the cafe is high and is reflected in the cost. The ham baguettes we had were small, slightly warm (those rolls that are baked as needed) so the butter melted resulting in a soggy baguette. Edible but we won't choose again.
Judnot★What a joke of a place! Hottest day of the year. Following a nice shaded walk through the woods, I popped into the San Remo Lakeside Cafe and purchased a small tub of ice cream (£4) and a small bottle of sparkling water (£2.50). I paid, then asked for a cup with some ice for my water. The response was: 'We charge £1 for ice.' Doesn't quite chime with the quotes on San Remo website, eg: 'In an age where many cafés are operated by large, faceless chains, San Remo takes pride in offering a personal, community-focused experience.' Yeh right!
