After a fun day exploring and taking in the beauty of Stratford-upon-Avon, I was contemplating what to have for dinner. I didn't want to simply go to a pub for the usual, and I fancied the thought of fish and chips by the water. So into Google Maps I went, to check a few places out. The Kingfisher came up as a potential, the reviews seemed good and so I decided to head here for haddock, chips and mushy peas. The owners seemed very friendly and the prices reasonable. After visiting Stratford-upon-Avon on a bank holiday weekend the ques at lunchtime for fish and chips were giant in the main town. After quick Google I was able to find the kingfisher. Only 3 minutes from the swan theatre. Absolutely worth the slight extra walk for fresh fish, fried on order. We had the haddock and the cod both West stunning and the chips were divine. My son said this is the best fish and chips he has ever tasted and I would agree it beats coastal chippies. This is a local gem. I save myself at least 40 minutes in a queue and was treated with amazing food. The owners were ver

I had scampi and chips and my partner had cod and chips, we both had a cup of coffee with our meals. The coffee was put in the cups and brought to the table for us to add the water and milk as required which was a nice touch. The chips were delicious, crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle the scampi was lovely and crispy too. My partner said the cod and chips was the best he'd eaten in a long time. The batter was thin and very crispy, the cod was very white and the flakes were perfect he also liked the crispy/fluffy chips. The staff were friendly and not intrusive and very polite we c
