My partner and I came here when we first started dating since Italian cuisine is my favourite and I fell in love with the place. The food, the atmosphere and the service is all so amazing. Every time we leave, we look forward to coming back, which is hard as we are from London, but coming to Southend just for Piccolos makes us happy ☺️. It was raining cats and dogs as I walked in to Piccolo, I was trying to take my brolly down but it kept getting stuck. I had my backpack on, handbag on my arm and was trying to endeavour the small entrance to the restaurant... Somehow, I tripped over my own feet...managed to reverse in... 5 steps... and just about caught myself before I crash landed! Becks has arrived! We were in the area on a Saturday night and really wanted to come here but we knew it would be busy. I called and they offered us a slot starting at 7pm but said that we would have to leave shortly after 8pm. Having now seen how rightly popular this place is I am so grateful to them for fitting us in. We had the warmest of welcomes and an excellent meal - really outstanding food and service. Lovely people and a lovely establishment. I notice they were founded in 1976. I hope they have another 50 years ahead of them! We came from Folkestone and would travel again, just to come here.
