I wanted some coffee. Djuana found this place in Baton Rouge. Always game and sometimes skeptical we cruised in. I immediately noticed that this was a gathering place with locals talking, drinking coffee and eating beignets. 50 % full. We didn't know how it worked, but we got in line. There were cups and urns with several types of hot coffee, hot chocolate and cafe au lait. We poured and moved along the counter. I noticed a man who was cranking out Beignets and Beignet Fingers. His name was Claron (sp?) and he was the Heart of this place! Dishing up mounding servings of Beignet finger

Stopped here for an early morning coffee and breakfast. The place was almost half full. There was plenty of space to sit. I ordered a cafe au lait and a sausage biscuit. For what I got, I thought the price was a little high. It was a mug of coffee and a plain biscuit with a flat sausage patty. The biscuit itself was good but I think you can get a tastier and cheaper breakfast at McDonald's.

The workers there are very kind. You can tell they have a high volume output. I will say that the beignet were dense. Now I am no native to Louisiana at all. So if that’s how they are supposed I’m all for it. They load up your beignet with lots of powdered sugar that a plus and leave powdered sugar containers on the table to add to it. They have their own coffee mixture with cream and sugar added to it. But they do have extra condiments to add too if you would like. Very affordable and bang for your buck. Very crowded place so it’s def a fav within Baton Rouge.

Someone said if u pass through Baton Rouge or New Orleans make sure to try some Beignets. We did and we absolutely loved them!! Delicious fresh, light n fluffy and powdered sugar coated heavenly fritters! We even brought some home to Texas! Give it a try and u won’t regret it. Coffee Call had great ambience and good food!
