Mezzo is a Berkeley staple. This place stays busy all day and for good reason. SO many of their options and items are baked or made in house and it really makes a difference. Most of the staff is extremely friendly, quick, and helpful as they usually have quite a long line. Tip, you can skip the line and order drinks at the counter as well if you are just looking for an espresso drink and no meal. The cowboy cookie here is an absolute gem and is packed with so many ingredients, it usually takes me 3-4 days to finish one. MEZZO!! LET'S GO!! What a delicious delicious experience here. I came in when it looked a little slow, and I honestly had no clue what to get. I decided to do the BLTA on some kind of whole grain bread with the works, pickled jalapeños added, extra pickles ots, and the chipotle aioli on the side. The shorter man with a mustache who took my order made me the most delicious sandwich ever! It was genuinely everything I could have wanted. We went there Tuesday morning for breakfast and coffee. Service: The young lady at the register was doing the best she could, without ANY support. We gave her a great tip for enduring the situation. We only purchased ☕ after observing these two gentlemen. One (red shirt) scratching his head and the other wiping his face, both working without gloves on. You can clearly see the food in his hand, just Nasty! I don't recommend anything until those who prepare our food are wearing the correct equipment.
