This is a very cool place with a lot of history and a story worth hearing. The atmosphere alone makes it worth the visit, and you can tell there is a lot of character and tradition behind the establishment. The food was good, but I would describe it as solid bar food rather than a destination for fine dining. The menu is fairly small, which keeps things simple and easy to choose from. That said, you really don’t come here expecting a high-end dinner experience. You come for the unique setting, the history, and the chance to experience a place that has been part of the community for years. If y

Stopped by The Griffon in downtown Charleston for a quick lunch and it delivered exactly what you want from a classic English-style pub near the waterfront. The atmosphere is dark, moody, and full of character. The walls are completely covered in signed dollar bills from guests over time which makes the whole space feel layered, lived in, and a little bit legendary. It is one of those details you keep looking at while you eat because there is always something new to notice. I would love to know the full story behind how that tradition started. I ordered the turkey club sandwich with provolon

The Griffon is a fun, laid-back pub right in downtown Charleston with tons of character. The walls covered in dollar bills give it a unique, old-school charm, and the vibe is lively but relaxed—perfect for hanging out with friends or grabbing a casual meal. We ordered a good mix of food: nachos, wings, shrimp BBQ, a Reuben, the Griffon burger, Philly chicken, and a chicken burger. The Griffon burger was the standout—soft, juicy, and absolutely delicious. The Reuben was good too and hit the spot. The nachos, wings, and shrimp BBQ were solid pub bites. That said, the Philly chicken and chicken b

One of my favorite places I’ve visited so far in Charleston. The food atmosphere and service were all excellent. The prices are also very reasonable. I had the chips and queso for an appetizer. I was highly impressed with both the chips and the cheese. I also had the old fashioned Rueben and fries. I also enjoyed both of those as well. Really awesome little pub, would highly recommend checking it out.
