We took a quick trip to Exchequer Restaurant & Pub and decided to stop in for lunch, easily one of the best decisions of our trip. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere felt warm, cozy, and comfortable, making it the perfect place to relax after exploring the city. The menu also had a great variety of options, so there’s truly something for everyone. This was my first stop after dinner on a neighborhood bar crawl, so I didn't get to try the food, but really wish I did. Everything I saw bring served looked great. I had a few drinks at the bar just enjoying the atmosphere of a downtown Chicago bar/restaurant. Not a huge beer selection, but the bartender was nice and actually recommended the place next door for a bigger beer menu (I stopped in and reviewed that as well). Very authentic and nice restaurant. It is the old hangout spot of Al Capone, and you can see the booth he used to sit in. Ask the staff to show you his escape door to the underground tunnels. I had the ribs and deep dish pizza; they are both amazing.
