It was a unique afternoon evening, a little overcast, but just enough sunlight after a long day inside, to promote the outdoor seating. I was greeted with many smiles and was asked right away indoor or out. Inside im sure would have been as delightful as the outdoor proved to be. The wait staff treated my intimate table, as if it was the only table on the block. Their kindness barley surpassing the outstanding food presentation. If I were in a hurry no one would have known. I got braised short rib. The meat was so tender... The food was pretty good. What I didn't like is how crowded and loud the space was, Its probably quieter sitting outside if you have a small crowd.

I recently did a full buyout for a dinner/cocktail reception for a large client event. Had close to a hundred bank and credit union executives from all over the country in the space. This was the second year I've hosted such a large group of clients at The Marq. Last year we had just booked the rear half of the space. Both this year and last went off without a hitch. Sean, the manager, the servers, bartenders, food runners, and even the chef came out at one point or another to check on things and offer polite intros. Went for breakfast. Amazing! Got an omelette which I normally don't like but was blown away buy the flavor and it was cooked to perfection. Not dry at all. (Which is what I normally don't like) Also got a side of sausage.. yum! A notch above!! Not just your standard breakfast spot!! A++ Can't remember what my partner got but it was all amazing.. they were closed on Saturday though. Maybe it's a Chicago thing. Because the coffee shop next to it was closed too 🤷. Considering the effort put into preparation the breakfast and would love to try what they make for dinner!!
