Niara Bogle★★★★★There is limited seating. Orders are taken at the counter and your food is packed in to-go containers. I highly recommend the peach cobbler pancake. It comes with 2 fried chicken wings. It is VERY filling. Everything is made fresh according to order so there is a wait time for the food preparation. I enjoyed my time there. Do not forget the desserts! Peach cobbler- good, Carmel cake- good.
J Glover★★★★What a lovely lunch we had today. We got the fried chicken and pork chop lunch. It was so good. The cashier recommended the red beans and rice for a side and it was my fav. The Mac was tasty, a lil moist for my taste but good all the same. Cabbage was yummy with a good spice to it. Cornbread was flavorful and moist. We didn't care for the potato salad tho. Only thing I don't recommend trying. We'll be back to support and also to try some desserts. Just wish they had a restroom.
Dee D★★★★★Ok so as a caterer I be real picky bout where I eat. I cook soul food for a living so when I'm spending my own money at somebody else kitchen, it better be worth it. Alma's Place over there on West Compton Blvd? Worth every dollar and then some. What I love bout Alma's is it's a real family operation. Miss Alma been known round Compton as a great cook for years before they ever opened that storefront back in 2016, and her daughter Corina, aka Cookie Gal C, learned from her grandmama, her auntie, and her mama, plus she went and got culinary school on top of it. You can taste all that lineage in
Dajanae Jackson★★I got the catfish w yams/Mac & cheese. A side of potato salad, A slice of sp pie & strawberry cake. The mac & cheese was the most disappointing thing I’ve ever tasted in my life…. It taste just as bland as it looks in the picture… where is the pepper?? Never thought I’d get non seasoned food in Compton 😖. Yams was the best tasting thing but not amazing. 2 desserts were not good in my opinion. Strawberry cake had really thick dense frosting & SP pie slice was just ok. Let’s not talk about the potato salad…. This is my 2nd time visiting so I know I for sure will not be back which is too bad I l
