Surprise find for me, although I think others know about it. Their drip is dialed in excellently to bring out the fruit and fermentation of their washed coffee. Don't worry about pourovers or fancy drinks IMO, just get espresso or drip. Enjoy the beans they're giving you. Also the everything-seasoned popover with a honey Dijon cream (almost cheese) was very bold. I liked eating that just on its own for breakfast.

This Middle State store in Highland, the LiddleState, is brighter and more straightforward than its original location in Baker. Single room, several seats, two small tables outside. The overall look is very fresh and chic. I had some interesting signature drinks here, like the dalgona, a whipped instant coffee with syrup and milk, and Cafe Miel, a short cinnamon honey vanilla latte. Coffee is quite delicious and well presented. However, their service felt short. Baristas don't have the warmth that one expects, and in one occasion, visibly grumpy.
