Billy Vanderhoof★★★

The Pizza Joint delivered one of the most middle‑of‑the‑road experiences you can have with a pie. The pizza itself was average, with undercooked dough that made each slice feel a little limp. The terrible cuts didn’t help either — not a single slice was cut through all the way. The sauce was tasteless, offering nothing to elevate the bite. But there were a few bright spots. The toppings were great for the price, and I’ll give them bonus points for having roasted red peppers, which are always a win in my book. Still, even good toppings can’t fully rescue a pizza that’s struggling at its base. T

This downtown pizzeria is such a local staple — the kind of spot that always seems to be open (midnight closings, thank you!) and forever buzzing with that hipster-y, artsy vibe. They host events, sling great pies, and their veg/vegan options are actually delicious. I tried the vegan chorizo made by Kicha Foods (an El Paso gem with all those fun chile-forward flavors), and oh my god… incredible. A must-stop for late-night pizza lovers and plant-based folks alike.

As soon as we came in the cashier / cook was very friendly and talkative. Answered all my questions knowledgeably. You could tell he enjoyed his work. The environment was very unique and cool. You could tell it’s been a staple spot downtown for years. There were a couple families in there and my friend’s son was able to draw on a chalk wall they had there. You can order pizza by the slice and it was really great. We got the spliffs as an appetizer which were their breadsticks, the mixed wing flavor of hot & bbq and then the regular pepperoni slice and Maui-Wowi which is their pineapple pizza.

The Pizza Joint brings a vibrant, high-energy dose of classic rock 'n' roll comfort straight to El Paso. The bustling neighborhood favorite pairs a funky, art-filled dining room with a late-night, energetic vibe. The kitchen delivers heavy-hitting flavor, pairing massive, New York-style hand-tossed slices and specialty pies like the "Green Monster" with crispy wings, garlic knots, and refreshing craft beers.
