On a recent girls trip to Galveston, we decided to have lunch at Sugar & Rye. One person in our party had been before and suggested we enjoy a meal here. The place was busy on that Saturday morning but we were able to get a table after about 20 minutes. They had plenty of seating both outside and indoors however we chose to wait for indoor seating. Once seated, the service was exceptional. We were greeted with friendly and efficient staff. The food came in a reasonable amount of time considering how busy they were. We enjoyed some great coffee while we waited. It was really good! Once our food

Went here with a friend and we had a great time. We both got drinks, and both drinks were strong so you’re getting your moneys worth. We got the baked Brie and it wasn’t my cup of tea, but it was still good. The first date flatbread and Cajun chicken were great and I would re-order these! Definitely a vibe, I’d recommend if you are in Galveston.

Sugar and Rye didn't disappoint. Short review: the food was great. With a little tweaking and some additions it would be terrific. Ambiance was ok. We went at 6pm on a Saturday; it was extremely busy and very, very loud. We know to be seated outside next time. There was a little bit of a wait before a waiter came and introduced himself as Landon. Afterward he was very attentive and was a terrific waiter. Visited Sugar & Rye for the first time on a Sunday for brunch. It was crowded as expected but 2 seats came open at bar. Indoor table seating was a 20+ minute wait. The hostess followed us with menus & we sat. The bar staff completely ignored us. It was busy & something behind the bar was being repaired which made it extremely noisy. The two staff and bartender ignored us. They didn't wipe the bar area down after anyone left, including where we sat. I wiped our area down and pushed the glass and left behind napkins away. We had to ask one of them to take our drink order. Then they never asked
