It is an intimate and classy restaurant with an open counter/kitchen too. They serve authentic Italian food and a good selection of wine. We had the meatballs, cacao Pepe and rigatoni with pesto cream sauce and affogato. They were all delicious and fresh. The pasta tasted like home made to me. We chose this restaurant because it belongs to a Canadian restaurant group that we like when I was in Vancouver. I will try their sister restaurant (seafood) here in NYC next time.

We went back to Carlotto for the third time last night and left with even more confidence we want to return. The dishes were all fantastic. We especially enjoyed the Yellowfish Crudo, Beef Short Rib and Lobster pasta dishes. Each had excellent flavor and were perfectly prepared.

Had a great dinner at Carlotto. The space is elegant without trying too hard, and the whole experience feels polished from start to finish. Service was attentive and smooth, exactly what you’d expect at this level. Food really delivers—everything is well executed, with standout pastas and high-quality ingredients across the board. It’s definitely on the expensive side, but in this case it feels justified. Not an everyday spot, but absolutely worth it for a nice night out.
