Amy Schirmer★★★★★Moosewood Restaurant was put on my bucket list in 1991. I've finally made it! It was worth the wait! I could have happily ordered ANYTHING on the menu. I had non-alcoholic guava on the bottom to drink, and my husband chose the hummus tray for our appetizer. For our main entrée he had the Moroccan stew and I had the polenta. OH MY GOODNESS...SOO GOOD!!! If you like vegetarian, don't pass through Ithaca without stopping at Moosewood! Our price range is based on 4 drinks, appetizer, 2 entrees, dessert, and a generous tip.
Amanda Gorges★★I really wanted to love Moosewood given its reputation, but sadly the food fell flat. Almost every dish lacked flavor and desperately needed salt. Unfortunately, there wasn't any on the tables. The bread was hard as a rock (though strangely not stale). The FLX pot pie wasn't a proper pot pie at all it was just a stew with a hard croissant on top. We also ordered the Thai green curry, but what came out was clearly red curry (different flavor profile entirely). The only redeeming item was the chutney on the Moroccan stew and that was genuinely good. Service was friendly, but that doesn't make
Noga Yangzom Tenzin★★★★Great great vibes here- Indoors feels small yet intimate, with a thick, lit candle on every table, and beautiful decorations. The food always had a vegan cheese option which was really great for our non-dairy party. Pasta was a little lacking in flavor (we asked for salt and pepper which definitely helped) I would skip or order extra appetizers, which were great (we got a puffy pastry and were recommended the Patatas). The bean burger itself was good, but a little bit of a dry dish. We also got a pot of tea which was a really cozy touch. Overall, will probably be back for the mood but less so
Sandesh Adiga★★★★★What an incredible find! We only realized the deep history of Moosewood after we sat down, and it truly lived up to its legendary reputation. The food was outstanding - everything tasted exceptionally fresh, healthy, and perfectly seasoned. We honestly couldn't stop eating! They have an impressive range of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options which made ordering so easy for our family. We tried the beet hummus board, the gluten-free kids' pasta, and the Moosewood burger. Eevery single dish was flawless. It’s rare to find a place that balances health and flavor so well.
