My family and I came here for an early Father’s Day lunch and we absolutely loved it!! Our waitress was so kind and helpful and gave us amazing recommendations. We got the “taste of mesob” for 3 which came with tons of options to choose from and generous portions. We highly recommend the Buticha, Siga Sambussa, Kitfo, Lega Tibs, Doro Tibs, Shrimp Tibs (must try!!). We also got guava juice (highly recommend), mango juice, and iced hibiscus juice cut with honey water. Everything was incredible. Can’t wait to come back!

I recently visited Mesob Ethiopian Restaurant in Montclair and had an average experience overall. The sambussa and chicken tibs were decent not bad, but nothing particularly memorable either. The flavors were okay, just didn’t really stand out compared to other Ethiopian spots I’ve tried. The overall experience wasn’t disappointing, but it also didn’t quite impress. It’s a fine place if you’re in the area and craving Ethiopian food, but I’m not sure I’d go out of my way to return.

Wanted to try some different food so went to Mesob. We tried their vegetarian sampler and really liked few items on it. Being Indian, we could relate to the food very much. For an Indian pallet, some taste may be different, but thatbis exaclty we wanted to try.

You walk into the place and it smells like spices and herbs. Very nice ambiance and staff is extremely attentive. The food itself is well seasoned and quite well portioned. I did wish that the injera was warmed but when I asked for it to be heated up the staff was kind enough to do so. I intend to be back again.
