Outstanding meal! Everything was sooo good!! We especially loved the red lentil soup, chicken kabob, and rice pudding. Just as amazing was our waiter Vusal. He was so professional, kind, attentive, and helpful. He made our meal that much better. We can’t wait to go back and try more Turkish food!

Ottoman Taverna is a lovely restaurant serving authentic Turkish cuisine. We arrived in the early evening on a Sunday and the restaurant was mostly empty. By the time we left, the restaurant was bustling. We visited during Ramadan and guess that most patrons arrived just before sundown to break fast. We were served fresh, warm bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Wonderful. We ordered Lamb Lule Kepab (chargrilled ground lamb kebap seasoned with Turkish spices severed with white rice, Turkish salsa, and carrot-red cabbage slaw) and Beyti Kebap (chargrilled spicy ground beef kebap wrapped

Heard this spot had received some recognition from Michelin, and while I was in DC, I went out of my way to give it a try. Unfortunately, I felt pretty let down. Stopped by on my way out from DC before heading to the airport. I got to try their ayran, lahmacun, baklava with ice cream. I will first say that the interior of the place is certainly beautiful, and the staff seems to be fairly nice as well. Bit formal. But, in terms of the food, I just wasn’t that impressed. The lahmacun just lacked flavor. There was very little spice; in fact, for whatever reason, it almost tasted a bit sweet. Th

Came here for Friday late lunch, the place was really empty. Only 1 table had guests. Decor is amazing. We ordered Shepard salad and the hummus. The salad had too many tomatoes and the hummus was cold. We wanted to order the adana kebabs but the waiter told us they were beef, been to many turkish places and adana are always lamb. So we ended up ordering some lamb skewers. It was just ok. Overall not worth visiting again, service was ok, seemed like they preparing for the dinner!
