Jennifer van Arcken★★★★★If you’re looking for an escape without leaving Birmingham, **Chez Lulu** is an absolute gem. Tucked away in the heart of **English Village**, its location is perfect—just a stone's throw from downtown but feeling worlds away. The moment you step inside, the atmosphere transports you; it truly feels like stepping into a cozy, authentic **bistro in France**. The restaurant recently changed ownership, and the new couple running it is doing a fantastic job maintaining the charm while adding wonderful new touches. I stopped in for their new **Sunday High Tea-style brunch**, and it was exceptional.
Abigail Bowring★★★★★The menu is everything you need nothing you don’t. It’s a traditional establishment, short wine glasses and all. Staff were very personable. I was at Chez Lulu as a favor to a friend, you see my party was on a stakeout for her first Hinge date. We ended up sending them a crème brûlée, which I was told was fabulous. Anywho, it is the perfect date night/stakeout spot.
Krystle Gallegos★★★★★This French themed establishment is an entire experience. The decor. The desserts. The food. The bread! Even the espresso is to die for! Delicious experience for all the senses.
John Bowles★★★★★A true neighborhood jewel. Feels like stepping into a cozy, bohemian French street-café: warm light, bursts of color, savory smells, cheerfully crowded with hand-crafted artwork. I imagine it’s like stepping into a painting. Wishing I could give more stars for atmosphere. Inviting year-round whether for a date, a reunion with an old friend, an evening out, or a decadent bite all to one’s self. You can also host a party or get-together there! The cuisine is pretty, creative and seriously delicious; concocted from the ground up with local ingredients by dedicated craft infused with playful artis
