My wife and I are breakfast people! We have a standing Saturday date that usually begins with a stop at one of our favorite breakfast spots. Bella’s Cafe in New Haven just made the list. Breakfast menus are all typically the same. A few name changes here and there, but breakfast is breakfast. Not at Bella’s. From the eclectic atmosphere, the excellent service, and the outstanding food, Bella’s is the PERFECT way to start the day. Great pancakes, a tropical French toast, the BEST grits this southern boy has ever eaten, and the Havana Curly Fries bowl…oh my! So much going on in this dish. Tasti

The team at Bella Cafe is so warm and welcoming! They were kind from the get-go and were attentive in their service. In particular, Melissa along with the crew at the bar was a delight! The peppermint hot mocha was lovely, and the holiday decorations were gorgeous!.

Bella’s Café is the best spot for breakfast in New Haven. The pancakes were huge, thick, and perfectly fluffy. A stack of 3 pancakes is plenty for 1 person. The croissant was just as impressive, buttery and delicious. The potatoes were also delicious, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff provided excellent service. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The only issue was that we came on a busy Sunday morning, and it took about 45 minutes for our food to come out. If you’re planning to come in the morning

hands down the best place in Connecticut to get brunch or breakfast there’s no doubt about it. If Gordon Ramsay came here he would actually be impressed. I think ask the owner for pointers!!! It’s a little frustrating when they’re really busy, but it’s worth the wait. They have a case with some kind of delicious bread in it sometimes so I suggest ordering some of that with butter/cream cheese while you’re waiting for your food with a nice cappuccino …everything is just DEVINE!!!
