Heard Dat Kitchen serves incredibly elevated home cooking. We were lucky enough to meet Chef Jeff, and it was interesting hearing about how many different family recipes came together to create the delicious dishes they serve. It’s a family-run restaurant with warm, welcoming service, and you can tell the love that they put into the cooking. We ordered the Mardi Gras Mambo, Nola Jazz (fried chicken), Crawdat Cornbread, macaroni and cheese, Onion Rings, bread pudding, and sweet tea for takeout. Unfortunately, the food fell short on flavor. The fried fish in the Mardi Gras Mambo and the fried chicken in the Nola Jazz both lacked seasoning, and the sides that came with them were quite bland. Found this place close to our rental in NOLA in central district. Our service was very friendly and hospitable. The food was al fresh and the quality was quite noteworthy. They had a great mac and cheese as well. The portions were well given, but nothing to weigh you down. Would definitely recommend, and really appreciated the good experience.
